NOTE:

This blog is part of the Microsoft “The Ultimate Steal” Blogging Contest. Go to www.theultimatesteal.com for details.

For all of my fellow students out there (or “students” with active .edu e-mail accounts):

Microsoft is running a special right now to “steal” Office Ultimate 2007. Well not steal, per se. But at $60, it’s a steal of a deal.

Office Ultimate 2007 will be a huge upgrade for me, for the following reasons:

1.) Microsoft Word — Writing papers in a compatible format is essential when you’re e-mailing papers back and forth for group projects. And my crappy laptop has just enough resources to handle Word, so it’s win-win!

2.) Microsoft Excel– Excel 2007 makes Statistics, Accounting and Economics fun! Look at all of the pretty graphs I can make! How can inflation be so bad, when it looks so bright and colorful?

3.) Portable Document Format– Saving my word documents as PDFs is super easy with Office Ultimate 2007. PDFs give you instant-academic credibility, even if the only people reading your papers are your TA and your mother.

You might be asking yourself: why would Jon so blatantly promote a corporate giant? Well, this corporate giant is dangling a prize of $3000 that could potentially finance my spring break to Miami. And after a long, lonely, chilling Winter, Jon will desperately need a tan.

Please commence making fun of me in comments section.

Or you could get a mac, where you can save anything as a pdf and you can easily “borrow” programs from any friend with a firewire cable (cost: approx 25). Holla.
