Snarky Behavior

The Irvine Co. announced this afternoon that it has agreed to extend Wild
Rivers Waterpark’s lease for one more summer season at the request of Irvine
Mayor Beth Krom.

An ocregister.com article about the planned closing of Wild Rivers received
more than 14,000 page views and prompted more than 100 online comments. Fans of the water park and camp circulated three petitions and launched two Web sites to
keep the venues open. A “Save Wild Rivers” group on Facebook.com showed about
1,000 supporters.

Say what you will about the Irvine company: they are sensitive to the demands of the community. If Wild Rivers could build up as part of the Great Park, that would be AWESOME.
